Precautions while working on electrical equipment’s

Electric shock and burns from contact with live parts. injury from exposure to arcing (when electricity jumps from one circuit to another) fire from faulty electrical equipment or installations. explosion caused by unsuitable electrical apparatus. 

Do’s, 

  • Wear proper electrical rubber hand gloves and other required PPEs when you are exposed to electrical hazards. 
  • Face away/ body away when you are operating any panel switches. 
  • Ensure ZES-Zero Energy State, when power is not required. 
  • ARD (Automatic Rescue Device) operation, it is mandatory that first ARD is switched off, before putting off main switch 
  • Use insulated tools while working on electrical panels. 
  • Prevent electrical equipment from contacting wet areas. 
  • Always perform last minute risk assessment. 
  • Install properly and tidy electrical cords. 
  • Follow safety procedures / rules. 
  • Always check the electrical rubber hand gloves prior to use, first blow air and check for any cuts or pin holes.
Don’t: 
  • Don’t try to modify any permanent connection of equipment’s without knowledge of supervisor. 
  • Don’t cross check the high voltage electric circuit, which is not isolated. 
  • Don’t touch any unauthorized (Customer) panel board. 
  • Don’t use any metal ornaments which may act as conductor of electricity. 
  • • Don’t install or repair sockets, plugs unless trained and authorized to do so.
