Actions To Be Taken

When
|
Design:
OHS&E
requirements not included &/or effectively integrated into design
|
· Qualified/experienced
OH&S construction projects manager must be engaged at commencement of
this phase as an integral part of the construction project team to review
site/plans & provide appropriate advice &/or guidance.
· This is most
important as it sets the OHS&E standards for the entire project duration
and embeds the OH&S culture right from the get go. + Initial
formal risk assessments on all construction aspects of the project.

Contractor Tendering:
· Contractors
with poor safety management history a
· Contracts do
not provide adequate clauses/detail to ensure safety compliance &/or
encourage excellence in safety performance.
|
· Contractor pre
selection process to be formulated and implemented to screen out contractors
with a history of poor safety compliance/performance.
· Contracts to
be drafted with concise OHS& E requirements & incentive/disciplinary
elements clearly outlined.

equipment required for safety compliance & high risk work is procured
& provided by the principle (Organization) as is
possible.
Such equipment should include but
