What is Pre-Startup Safety Review (PSSR)
A Pre-Startup Safety Review (PSSR) is a systematic examination of a facility, equipment, and procedures prior to the start-up of facility. The purpose of a PSSR is to identify and correct any potential safety hazards before the facility becomes operational.
A PSSR checklist should include, but is not limited to, the following items:
Facility layout and design review: This includes reviewing the layout of the facility and the design of the equipment to ensure that they meet safety standards and regulations.
Equipment inspection: This includes inspecting all equipment, including machinery, piping, and electrical systems, to ensure that they are installed and functioning properly.
